My YDNA

I've had my YDNA tested twice. Once with ancestry.com (a 41 marker test) and again with Family Tree DNA (a 37 marker test). The test results were virtually the same (duh). The results were off slightly on two markers.

One test would have been enough but I went with ancestry.com first and then decided I wanted to be part of the Family Tree DNA Weeks Surname Group and to be part of the group you have to have your YDNA processed by FTD.

Here are my results: (click on image to enlarge)

We had a WEEKS family in Coon Rapids, Iowa, as I was growing up... didn't know them too well, sorry! ;-)
Welcome to the Geneabloggers family. Hope you find the association fruitful; I sure do. I have found it most stimulating, especially some of the Daily Themes.

May you keep sharing your ancestor stories!

the ydna testing was a great idea for my husbands line as it confirmed all my research on our casteel ancestry. Plus later we were contacted by someone who believe the father was one of our ancestors - the child was born our of wedlock and they wanted to confirm Casteel as the dad. I told them it can easily be done if they wanted to to the ydna test and see if it matches.
